It makes it even harder when you have amazing friends, who you have run with for the last 2.5 years, who give you this at your goodbye party, after a heartwarming speech:
Do they know me, or do they know me? Jane designed it, Corey was in charge of production. And of course, as soon as I saw it, with tears in my eyes, I thought “why did we never plan a group 5k?” So hopefully the organizers I leave behind will plan one up in the next couple of years.
I even got this to hang up on my walls in Manila (great workout motivator, no?).
But when people thank you for creating a running group (one that you named your blog after, not the other way around) and say how they would not have met each other if it wasn’t for you, there’s no way not to get emotional.
And the miles? Were all worth it.
I’m going to miss these great friends I made here in DC, and I hope I can be so lucky to meet other wonderful people to run with on the other side of the word.
Aww! I love the medal and the frame! How cool!
And you will meet new people. It will be an adventure! 🙂
It WILL be an adventure! It hasn’t hit me yet…
I loved the gifts too! So sweet, isn’t it?
DC will miss you, but I can’t wait to read about all your adventures overseas!
