We have been here a week and a half, and already we have 2 sets of confirmed visitors! Now how exciting is that? The first one is Liz, a friend I don’t see it nearly enough when I lived in DC, but one that has been part of all my tubing trips, and every time I’ve gone camping at Assateague. She’s arriving in November, towards the end of the rainy season. By then, we’ll be in our permanent housing, unpacked and settled. I should know enough of Manila to show her around.
She also wants to explore more of the Philippines, so it should be a fun time!
Then right after the New Years, my parents are coming! They don’t care much about going to the beach (hello, they live in Rio!), but they’re staying here almost a month, so we’re planning on leaving the Philippines for about 10 days to visit Bangkok for some of this…
and Chiang Mai to do this:
Then we’re heading over to Cambodia, Siem Reap to be more specific, to visit this:
I can’t wait!
Karl and I are planning to sit down and write down all the places we want to see while we’re in Asia. With this trip, I will check Thailand and Cambodia off the list. But there’s sooo much more! Karl lived in Seoul when he was with the army, so he got to see a lot of Asia already, but not only he doesn’t mind seeing things again with me, he also has a few new places on his list!
Now what is the one place in Asia you always wanted to visit? (Or the one you got to visit?)
