First Trip Booked! Bohol!

There was a lot of discussion on where to go on our first trip.  Karl was able to take a day off over Memorial Day weekend, and to take advantage of the 4 days off he’ll get, we had to make it special.

But where to go?  We knew we wanted to stay in the Philippines, but we couldn’t figure out which place we wanted to visit first…  Boracay with its paradisiacal beaches?  Coco Beach, that wouldn’t require a flight?  Donsol, where we could swim with the whale sharks?  (But it might not be the season for them anymore?)  And the options went on and on.  When it comes to beach trips in the Philippines, you never run out of options!

Finally, we settled on Bohol, another island on the Philippines, less than an hour away by plane.  We booked our flights, and we’re just waiting to hear back from the hotel for confirmation of our stay (because though you do things online here too, it’s not the same as the online systems we’re used to, so the hotel needs to email us back).

What’s in Bohol?

Well the beach of course…

But also the Chocolate Hills (over 1,500 of them!)

But most importantly, we’ll get to see these…

What IS that alien looking thing?

A Tarsier!  It’s the smallest monkey in the world.  See how it fits in the palm of her hand?  Yep, that’s FULL GROWN.

Don’t you just want to take them home?  (Don’t worry, I won’t.)

A little over 2 weeks to go!  I can’t wait!
