And EXHAUSTED. It’s not that the trip to Coron was bad, it wasn’t, but the resort was a HUGE disappointment for what we paid for… And the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable, that even though we fell asleep super early every day (it rained a lot too), we had horrible sleep.
A review of Majika Resort to come soon… If you’re paying what we paid (I have a feeling there’s a cheaper “pinoy price” that was half of what we got quoted) it’s totally not worth it…
But, we made the most of it!
We did some wreck diving…
And a coral reef dive!
We spotted new things on these dives like a two foot long crocodile fish…
A huge cuttlefish (it was almost as long as my arm – and the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen)
and two eagle rays (soooo pretty even though I got a really crappy picture to show for it!).
I even got my own remora, who followed me throughout the whole dive! (Which also means there was some big fish nearby that we failed to see… Boo!)
Of course, I’ll be posting more pictures soon!
We also did a bit of snorkeling at the coral gardens and saw lots of pretty fish…
Way too many sea urchins for my liking…
And a LOT of spectacular clams!
Aren’t they super-cool?
And thanks to the really shallow Lusong wreck, we were able to snorkel there as well (snorkeling was part of our package, diving was extra $$$).
I liked wreck diving more than I expected I would, but coral reefs are still my #1 love. The visibility in Coron was the worst we’ve seen yet (just different bottom surface, nothing to do with the cleanliness of the water), so it made it hard to take in the whole wreck at once (since you could only see about 15-20ft at a time) and the diving pictures are not the best.
There was a lot of swimming and way too much time spent on boats. More pictures to come!
And I hope I can get back to running soon, as I haven’t felt my hip hurting for about a week now. This IS a running blog after all, right?
